BOSALY Portable 26lbs/24h Ice Maker Machine Review

BOSALY portable ice maker makes bullet shaped ice cubes with hollow inside and can make up to 26 lbs of them in 24 hours.

Ice production

BOSALY portable ice maker uses 22g R600a refrigerant to make a batch of ice cubes every 7-11 minutes. Each batch equals to 9 ice cubes. Ice cube quality is mediocre – the downside is that they come out wet, upside is that they are quite soft and chewable.

It can make ice cubes in small or large size. Difference between them is not that big but it’s definitely noticeable. Some ice makers that offer multiple size settings actually produce identical ice cubes no matter the size setting you have set but it’s not the case with BOSALY.

Ice basket is not refrigerated so keep in mind that ice cubes will melt once made. Where does water form melted ice cubes go? Back into water reservoir to be reused!

Control Panel

BOSALY portable ice maker has only two buttons: “On/Off” (which actually serves two purposes – you press it to turn the ice machine on or off however if you hold it for few seconds ice machine will enter self-clean mode) and “Select” (for selecting ice cube size).

It also has 6 indicator lights. Two of them are warning indicators when water reservoir is empty or ice basket full – in either case it will pause ice production until you resolve the issue.

Then there are two indicator lights for displaying which ice cube size setting you have selected – either “S”(mall) or “L”(arge).

The other two indicators are for indicating working mode – “Power” and “Clean”. Power means unit is turned on and Clean means that it’s in self-cleaning mode.

Features

BOSALY portable ice maker has sensors that detect when ice basket is full or water reservoir empty and pauses ice production if necessary. It also has self-clean mode and drain plug.

Noise

It’s relatively quiet most of the time except when it has finished making a batch and drops ice cubes in ice basket.

Conclusions

BOSALY portable ice maker is a decent unit but there’s nothing special about it. Pretty much all portable ice makers in this price class work the same or at very least very similarly.
