ZAFRO Countertop Ice Maker (Review)

ZAFRO Z3912 is a countertop ice maker that can make 26 pounds of ice in 24 hours. It makes a batch of 9 bullet-shaped ice cubes every 7 to 10 minutes.

Ice Production

The ice quality is pretty good. It’s soft and crunchy. The only flaw here is that ice cubes are a little bit wet which means they will freeze into a clump if you put them all in a Ziploc and place in the freezer.

Ice basket, just like on other countertop ice makers, doesn’t work as a freezer meaning ice cubes left there will slowly melt over time. All the water from melted ice cubes will go back into water reservoir.

Noise

ZAFRO countertop ice maker is a bit noisy.

Self-cleaning

ZAFRO countertop ice maker has a self cleaning feature. Just Hold the power button for 5 seconds and it will start cleaning process.

Does it work? It does to a degree. You will still want to clean it by hand once in a while but it’s nice that it has some sort of cleaning mode for when you are feeling lazy even though it’s not perfect. Make sure you drain all the water after cleaning.

Control Panel

ZAFRO countertop ice maker is very simple to use. There is only 1 button: Power aka On/Off button. Just press it and it will start making ice.

There are also 3 indicator lights:

• “Ice Full”: Indicates that ice basket is full.
• “Add Water“: Indicates that water reservoir is empty. Add water.
• “Ice Making“: Indicates that machine is currently making ice.

Colors

ZAFRO countertop ice maker is available in 4 different colors: Black, Green, White and Silver+White.

Dimensions

ZAFRO Z3912 measures 8.9 inches in width, 12.6 inches in depth and 11.8 inches in height.

Other

Ice basket and water reservoir are removable. ZAFRO Z3912 has see-through lid that lets you easily see how much ice it has made without having to open it and letting warm air inside.

Verdict

ZAFRO Z3912 is a fairly basic countertop ice maker. It’s affordable and works just fine but there’s nothing really special about it that makes it stand out among other countertop ice makers.
