Z Grills Master ZPG-700D Wood Pellet Grill/Smoker Review
Z Grills Master 700D is a budget priced wood pellet grill. Although it’s not exactly cheap it costs far less than many other high quality pellet smokers.
Z Grills 700D has a large cooking surface of 700 sq. in.: 513 sq. in. of main cooking rack and 187 sq. in. of warming rack. It operates in temperature range 180 °F to 450 °F, however at times might struggle to go past 400 °F. Interface is pretty much as simple as it gets making it very simple to operate – it has basic digital electric controller with temperature knob.
Temperature is distributed evenly across cooking surface and there are no hotspots. It works well for cooking but as it has lower maximum temperature than more expensive counterparts it’s not great for searing.
It does give food that smoky flavor which is signature characteristic of pellet smokers however it’s not as intense as with more expensive models – whether that’s a good or bad thing entirely depends on your taste.
Aesthetics wise it looks great – although that might be subjective. Black stainless steel with brass coating looks elegant and beautiful. It feels well made and sturdy too!
It has under-grill storage area where you can store pellets or other items. Doors are magnetically secured.
Assembly and set-up
Assembly is simple however because of sheer amount of parts it will take a while to construct – around an hour or more if you aren’t handy with assembling things. After assembling Z Grills Master 700D pellet grill you have to season the grill to get rid of any manufacturing residues and oil to make it food safe. That takes less than 1 hour.
Overall Z Grills Master 700D is a great choice if you want to get into pellet smoking. It offers great value for money and although there are better models they do cost a lot more too!
