YARDMAX YB5765 Review – Two-Stage Snow Blower [6.5 hp/196cc/22″]

YARDMAX YB5765 is a reasonably priced two stage snow blower. It has 196cc engine that develops 6.5 horsepower and has Intake height of 16 inches and clearing width of 22 inches. So can it really be any good for the budget price it retails?

Performance

When it comes to regular snow YARDMAX YB5765 performs great. It’s powerful and handles 20 inches of snow relatively easy. It might however struggle with wet snow as it sometimes gets stuck in the chute. But overall for the price it performs really well.

YARDMAX YB5765 starts well too – just prime it a few times and usually it will start on first pull.

Quality

Build quality is where YARDMAX YB5765 really struggles. It’s not sturdy at all – so many parts are just really brittle and you end up wondering how long will they last. Doesn’t necessarily mean you will run into any kind of problems of this nature but you shouldn’t be surprised if you do.

Features

YARDMAX YB5765 snow blower is self propelled and has 5 forward and 2 backwards speeds. The tires are small (13″ x 4″) and sometimes struggle to find traction in wet snow.

It has 9.5″ serrated steel augers and 10″ impeller diameter.

This model doesn’t come with LED headlights or electric starter.

Assembly

When you receive your YARDMAX YB5765 you will need to do somewhat vigorous assembly process. If you are handy then it won’t be too much of trouble and you can finish it under an hour, but since most don’t have much experience with assembling such devices most will end up spending 2-3 hours before they can finally start their machine.

Conclusions

For the price YARDMAX YB5765 performs really well – that’s when it works. Because of it’s low build quality there’s reasonable chances you might run into reliability issues.
