WORX WG163.9 20V Cordless Grass Trimmer (Review)

WORX WG163.9 is a battery powered string trimmer with cutting swath on 12 inches. It uses 0.065” string line and does 7,600 RPM at no-load.

Performance

It’s not something you would describe as powerful but for light jobs like cutting regular grass it’s sufficient.

Unit can be converted into edger. It’s not the best edger but it does the job.

Quality

You get what you pay for. Unit is made from cheap plastic.

Ergonomics

Although handle is (telescoping) adjustable it’s still a bit too short for someone who’s tall or has tall limbs. Overall balance is mediocre as weight distribution doesn’t feel quite right. It’s very lightweight though as it weighs just 5.3 lbs which decreases significance of previously mentioned flaws by a lot.

Overall ergonomics are average. They are not terrible but there is room for improvement.

Battery

There are multiple different batteries available for this unit so battery life varies. With a 2.0Ah battery you can expect battery life to be around 15 minutes, with a 4.0Ah around 25-30 minutes.

Features

WORX WG163.9 advances 0.25” of line every time you release the trigger – so if you do it often to conserve battery life you will go through string fast.
