WORX WG154 20V 10” Cordless String Trimmer Review
WORX WG154 is a budget priced cordless string trimmer. It has adjustable cutting swath of 10 to 12 inches and it uses 0.065” string.
Performance
You can’t expect top notch performance from a budget priced string trimmer, but with that being said it performs pretty well. It handles most stuff you would expect to trim with string trimmer and can handle most backyards just fine, however it’s not a good alternative to more powerful units when it comes to tougher jobs like seriously thick weeds or shrubs. Keep in mind that the string line it comes with isn’t the best and replacing it with a better one will improve performance a bit.
Another thing you might take into consideration is that it has relatively small cutting path – just 12 inches. Smaller cutting path generally means it takes longer to trim same area than with a larger one. If you have a relatively small yard then this might be of small significance but when it comes to larger ones the difference how long it takes to finish a job might be significant with different cutting swaths and power levels.
WORX WG154 can be converted into edger in just a couple seconds, however it doesn’t work well as one so you shouldn’t purchase this unit for this purpose.
Battery
Battery generally lasts 20-30 minutes on full charge but takes multiple hours to recharge.
Ergonomics
WORX WG154 is one of the lightest units on the market today. With a battery it weighs just 4.2 lbs so muscle fatigue is not something you have to worry about when using this unit.
However ergonomics aren’t perfect. Shaft length isn’t adjustable and it will be a bit too short for taller folks – not a deal breaker but you will probably have to crouch which makes it less comfortable to use. Some also find handles to be awkwardly positioned, others complain about the fact that you have to hold 2 triggers at the same time which some find fatiguing.

Features
WORX WG154 has auto feed line, it seems to work like this: every time you release trigger it feeds and cuts line. If you are trigger happy then you might end up wasting a lot of line, however keeping it on throttle all the time might be very uncomfortable for some as mentioned previously.
Conclusions
WORX WG154 isn’t the most powerful or feature-richest or most balanced string trimmer on the market but for the price it obviously doesn’t try to. For simple yard maintenance it might be sufficient, but for more serious jobs you will need more serious unit!

Bought the works 154 after the 18 v black and decker that I had for 10 yes stopped working. I wish I could’ve found another 18v black and decker! Much Much better trimmer! More power, more adjustable in every way, and believe this or not the 18 volt battery lasted more than twice as long! Could do my entire large yard. Around the house, garage, fence, flower beds among other things. I’m very disappointed in the works!
