VonHaus 40V Max Cordless String Trimmer/Edger Review

VonHaus 40V Max is a cordless string trimmer and edger that’s powered by 2.0Ah lithium-ion battery. It uses 0.065” line and has 9.8” cutting swath.

Performance wise it’s mediocre at best. Yes, you can trim grass on your yard with it just fine, but for anything more than that it’s too weak. It can’t handle anything more demanding than that like thick weeds or overgrowth. Small cutting radius also means it takes longer to finish the job.

Features

VonHaus 40V Max comes with safety guard and edge guard, so it can be used for edging too. It also features adjustable trimmer head that rotates by 90° which allows more accurate cutting.

It has auto-feed line cutting system but it doesn’t work well. You have to feed string manually all the time.

40V Max 2Ah battery is compatible with other Vonhaus 40V appliances.

Reliability

According to consumer reports Vonhaus 40V Max is less reliable than most string trimmers. Although it cannot be said it’s terrible unreliable or is very likely to break after short period of usage, but it seems like it tends to break more often that other weed eaters – whether the motor burning out, spool cap wearing out fast or something else.

From this we can conclude that although build quality of Vonhaus 40V Max string trimmer isn’t exactly bad, it’s also far from being great.

Conclusions

Overall Vonhaus 40V Max string trimmer is mediocre at best. It can do light jobs just fine but it can’t handle anything more demanding. Build quality isn’t bad but could be better and having to feed string manually can be annoying at times.
