VIVOHOME 26lbs/day Portable Countertop Ice Cube Maker Review

VIVOHOME portable countertop ice maker can produce up to 26 lbs of ice cubes in 24 hours. It makes a batch of 8 bullet shaped ice cubes (with hollow inside) every ~10 minutes.

Ice cube quality is decent but not great. They come out a bit moist which can be a problem if you put them in a freezer which you will have to do if you want to leave them for late use as the ice bin of this machine isn’t refrigerated.

The first few batches it makes are of lower quality – ice cubes are smaller and wetter. Once you turn VIVOHOME ice maker on it probably takes it a few cycles before it cools down to optimal temperatures.

VIVOHOME ice maker can make ice cubes in two sizes but even then the so called “Large” ice cube size produces ice cubes that are rather small sized.

Control panel

Control panel features two buttons: “On/Off” and “Select” (pretty self-explanatory, former is for turning unit on or off and latter for selecting ice cube size).

There is also 5 indicator lights: “S” and “L” indicator lights show which ice cube size setting you have chosen, “Power” shows that unit is plugged in and turned on, “Add Water” means water reservoir is empty and “Ice Full” that ice bin is full.

Features

VIVOHOME ice maker has sensors that detect if water reservoir is empty or ice bin full. In such cases it will pause ice production and warning indicator will turn on.

It has lid with transparent window which allows you to see bin contents without opening lid and letting warm air inside which can decrease quality of the following batch.

Water reservoir capacity is 2.3 quarts. VIVOHOME ice maker weighs 15.4 pounds which is 7.7 kilograms. Housing is made of plastic.

Conclusions

VIVOHOME countertop ice maker is pretty much what you would expect it to be if you have had experience with similarly priced ice makers as it’s very similar to them. It’s far from being the perfect ice maker but it’s good enough for most consumers.
