Vayepro HP202-D16 is a portable electric stove with two burners. The left burner has 1,100 watt power supply and is compatible with cookware that’s up to 7.1 inches in diameter whereas right one is smaller being 5.9 inches in diameter and having 700 watt power supply.

Vayepro HP202-D16 does take a while to heat up – noticably longer than it takes for a regular stovetop however with some patience it will get there. Both burners get hot enough to boil a pot of water. Other than the fact it takes a bit longer to heat up it cooks just fine.

There is one interesting nuance to the burners though. For some reason the smaller one runs a bit hotter than the big one which is something you have to keep in mind.

It’s hard to say what’s the reason behind this. Perhaps your first instinct says it’s probably because smaller burner has a higher power supply per square inch but if manufacturer data is accurate then quick calculation shows that the opposite is true – the larger burner has 6.94 watts per square inch whereas the smaller one – 6.4 watts per square inch.

All-in-all Vayepro HP202-D16 works and cooks just fine with some patience. It does seem to work slightly better if you use a single burner at a time but the difference isn’t so large that you would actually end up using one of them when in reality you need both.

Control panel

Control panel is simple and intuitive as it’s usually the case when it comes to portable stoves. Each burner has its own indicator light (that informs you whether the burner is still heating up or has achieved the desired temperature) as well dial for temperature adjustment.

Possible issues

Some consumers have reported that their units failed to achieve desired temperatures or took forever to cook with. The most likely explanation is that they received defective units (which sometimes happens with any product) as majority has not had this issue.

Verdict

Vayepro HP202-D16 does take longer to heat up than a regular stovetop but other than that it works fairly well for inexpensive model. It’s not a high-end unit neither is it the best double burner portable stove in the world but for a lot of consumers it will be good enough without having to spend a lot more money.
