Ultrean 4.2 Quart (4 Liter) Air Fryer Review

Ultrean AF01 is an air fryer with 4.2 quart capacity that cooks in temperatures from 180° to 400°F. It’s one of the cheaper and simpler models but is it a good air fryer?

Cooking

Ultrean AF01 cooks quite well. Food is tasty and crispy without being greasy. It must be said that some of the more expensive models actually cook even better but the difference isn’t night and day. As a simple air fryer it works just fine.

It doesn’t have any presets for specific foods like more expensive air fryers do.

One thing to note is that one the sides of the basket there are vents and if you turn it on its side hot grease can leak.

Controls

Control panel is very intuitive to use as there are only 5 buttons: two for adjusting temperature, two for adjusting cooking time and fifth button for starting cooking process.

Features

Detachable basket is dishwasher safe. Pan has nonstick coating applied to it. Handle is heat-resistant.

Possible issues

What’s extremely worrying is that there are couple reports air fryer smoking or bottom melting which can be a fire hazard. This is an extremely popular air fryer and such issue seems to be very rare. With any product there will be some defective units produced but if these reports are true then even few of such instances can cause concern.

Few consumers also have reported their Ultrean AF01 breaking after few months of use however this also doesn’t seem to be too common as there are many reports about is lasting over a year without any issues.

Verdict

Ultrean AF01 is a cheap and basic air fryer that works just fine however in some rare cases it seems concerning issues can arise.
