Troy-Bilt Squall 179cc Gas Snow Thrower Review
Troy-Bilt Squall 179cc is a gas snow blower with 21 inch clearing width and 13 inch clearing depth. It has 179cc 4-Cycle OHV engine.
Performance
Performance for the price is mediocre. It handles 10 inches of regular, light snow reasonably well. More than that and it will likely start to struggle. On top of that it doesn’t throw snow well.
It does start pretty well though – usually on first pull. It also has electric start which you probably won’t use as it starts well manually.
Features
Chute rotates 180 degrees.
Instructions / Assembly
Instructions aren’t detailed enough and it can be a problem for some as some assembly is required for this unit.
Issues
This unit has some flaws. Biggest of them is gas tank design as it’s common to break and fall inside the snow blower.
Tires are 8” by 2” but the tread is not well designed as snow can get stuck between grooves making it hard to handle. It’s also not easy to clean them.
Conclusions
As you probably suspect by now this isn’t that good of a snow blower. VeryBestReviews would recommend to look for a different model.
