SHARDOR CG825B Electric Burr Coffee Grinder Mill Review

Can an inexpensive electric burr coffee grinder be any good? Let’s find out! SHARDOR CG825B is one of the least expensive electric burr coffee grinder mills you can buy and even though it was released just few months ago it’s already within the top 100 best selling burr grinders in North America.

If you have owned an expensive burr grinder in the past you would be likely be disappointed by SHARDOR CG825B. It doesn’t perform as well as more expensive units which is kinda to be expected since it’s a lot less expensive.

Grind is not perfectly consistent. Consistency isn’t absolutely terrible, it’s best to be described as mediocre, but it’s not up to par with more expensive units.

SHARDOR CG825B Grinds 2 to 12 cups worth of beans at a time (maximum of 60 grams) and has 14 different grinding settings. Grinding performance varies depending on what grind you are trying to achieve.

Coarse grind is mediocre. Less consistent and less coarse than with an expensive burr grinder.

Medium grind is pretty decent. It’s reasonably consistent and grind turns out pretty good however it’s not quite perfect as there are some fines too.

Fine grind is okay too but SHARDOR CG825B is bad for extra fine grind as it fails to grind beans to super fine consistency.

SHARDOR CG825B is made from BPA plastic but actually feels very well made. It also looks very nice and elegant for such an inexpensive appliance.

SHARDOR CG825B has two dials. One of them is located on the front and adjusts cup amount and also works as a button to turn device on or off. Other dial is located on right side and adjusts grinding settings from coarse to fine.

Static cling is an issue with SHARDOR CG825B and grounds bin can be hard to take out at times so it can get messy. You also have to clean it quite often and it’s a bit difficult.

SHARDOR CG825B is a mediocre burr grinder. Just save a headache and get something more advanced. SHARDOR CG835B – different model from same company is a better model but it’s not quite a great one either. Some good alternatives are Baratza Encore and OXO Brew, they are still on cheaper side when it comes to burr grinders but generally retail for a higher price than CG825B and CG835B.
