Performance

Secura SWK-1701DB brings water to boil in about 5 minutes which is pretty quick. It has stainless steel interior with no plastic parts touching water which is a very nice thing for a kettle at this price point.

Secura SWK-1701DB works just fine and water tastes pure. One thing that could be improved is spout as some of the other electric kettles have better water flow when you are pouring water.

Possible issues

Some consumers have reported some issues with quality, typically after using if for at least a month. The most common issue seems to be the lid not sealing properly. This allows steam to escape when boiling water as well increasing the time it takes to bring water to 212°F.

Second most common issue is thermostat and auto shut off feature malfunctioning. Some consumers report auto-shut off feature kicking in after water has been boiling for minutes, others report it stopping working all together and in some rare cases some have even reported kettle turning on itself.

Verdict

Secura SWK-1701DB works just fine, at least initially. Even though majority of consumer feedback is positive there’s still a considerable amount of reports about different issues from those who have used this kettle for months. If you find such reports concerning then there are many other similarly priced electric kettles that can be good alternatives like COSORI CDK-SE151-KUS, MILIN ML9KT0010 or Zeppoli electric kettle.
