Royal Gourmet Regal GB2000 is a flat top (griddle) grill with 481.56 square inches of cooking area. It’s equipped with 2 independently controlled stainless-steel burners that output 13,000 BTU/hr each for a total heat output of 26,000 BTU/hr.

Despite being one of the more affordable flat top grills Royal Gourmet Regal GB2000 works pretty well but it’s not perfect.

Heat distribution isn’t perfect but it’s not too bad. You might notice some hot spots or cold spots (on the edges) but it doesn’t affect results too much. You can still get quite uniform cook and Royal Gourmet Regal GB2000 gets plenty hot as well. If you know what you are doing there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to achieve delicious results.

Another thing to mention is that flame can be affected by windy or cold weather. This is not a griddle that will work flawlessly in any conditions.

Overall Royal Gourmet Regal GB2000 performs fairly well considering its price even if it’s not perfect. It’s not however as good as Camp Chef FTG600 or Blackstone flat top grills.

Quality

Royal Gourmet Regal GB2000 feels sturdy and well built. Some non-essential parts might be of a little bit lower quality but overall quality is good.

Side Table

Royal Gourmet Regal GB2000 is equipped with side table however it does get hot so you shouldn’t put certain things on it while cooking or soon after (like plastic cups or glass items). You can fix this issue by making custom heat shields but this will likely void the warranty.

Other features

Royal Gourmet Regal GB2000 has electronic ignition system, removable grease cup, hanging bar with 4 hooks (it’s positioned a bit low though and some tools might touch ground) and wheels for movability.

Verdict

For the money Royal Gourmet Regal GB2000 is a pretty decent flat top grill. Of course there are better units that are also more expensive but this is not a bad place to start at if you don’t want to spend a lot of money outright.
