Remington RM4214CS REBEL 42cc 14-inch Chainsaw Review (41AY4214983)

Remington RM4214CS (41AY4214983) REBEL is inexpensive gas chainsaw with 14-inch bar and chain (but is also sold with 16 and 18 inch bars/chains) – in fact it’s one of the cheapest gas chainsaws you can buy today. It has 42cc 2-cycle engine.

Cutting performance

For the money cutting performance is actually amazing. It’s smaller saw but despite low price it actually does a great job of taking down small trees (up to 12 inches including hardwoods) or medium size logs. The chain it comes with is not the best though so replacing it with a better one will only improve cutting speed.

It’s not made for heavy duty jobs but it actually manages to cut better with Oregon chain than some chainsaws that cost 2-3 times as much!

It’s also easy to start – almost always doesn’t take more than one or two pulls.

Quality

It feels cheap yet well made at the same time in a sense that some parts or mechanisms do feel cheap or are made of cheap materials but they are sturdy enough to last for years and work just like they are supposed to.

Remington RM4214CS features auto chain oiler, inertia activated chain brake, side-mounted tensioning system, tool-free access to the air filter and spark plug, poly chassis and 3-point anti-vibration system.

Conclusions

The value for money is crazy with Remington RM4214CS. It’s so cheap yet cuts so well, is relatively easy to use and starts better than many units multitude of cost. It’s not made for heavy duty stuff but it excels at light duty and some medium duty jobs.
