PowerXL HF-196DT 7-Quart Air Fryer Review

PowerXL HF-196DT is an air fryer with 7 quart capacity (large enough to cook for 3-4 persons). It can cook in temperatures ranging from 180°F to 400°F.


Cooking

PowerXL HF-196DT cooks well and heats up fast. Chicken comes out very moist on inside and crispy on outside, very crispy if you spray a little bit of oil on it (still a lot healthier than deep frying since you only use a little amount of oil). French Fries and mozarella sticks come out very crispy too. Other foods taste great too – veggies, nuggets, corn dogs, wings, steaks and many others come out delicious.

PowerXL HF-196DT works well with reheating food too. It ends up tasting a lot better than if you warmed it up in microwave.

There are 7 presets that make cooking simpler: French Fries, Roast, Shrimp, Bake, Chicken, Steak and Fish. Just select the preset and temperature as well cooking time will be automatically set.


Controls

PowerXL HF-196DT air fryer has LCD display and touch sensitive buttons. It’s simple to use. You turn it on by pressing “Power” button. From then you can either manually set temperature and time or select one of the presets using “M” button. When you want to start cooking just press the Power button again.


Other

7 Quart fry basket has nonstick coating that makes it easier to clean. It also has crisp vents that improves air flow and allows food to be cooked more evenly.


Conclusions

For the money PowerXL HF-196DT is a good air fryer. It cooks well, food comes out tasting delicious and it’s simple to use. The only slight flaw is that it doesn’t feel as well made and sturdy as more expensive models.
