PowerSmart DB7622H Snow Blower Review

In the past PowerSmart snow blowers have proved to offer amazing value for money, is this also the case for PowerSmart DB7622H?

Although reading the spec sheet isn’t accurate way of figuring out how well the snow blower performs it does give you a general idea of what kind of unit you are dealing with. We won’t hinder you with a long list of specs (not yet at least) but there are some basic things you need to know – PowerSmart DB7622H is a two-stage gas powered snow blower with 4-stroke (no need to mix gas with oil) 212 cc engine that develops 9.5 lb.-ft. of torque. It has clearing width of 22 inches and depth of 16.

So with that out of the way lets get into the actual review!

Performance

PowerSmart DB7622H is another snow blower from PowerSmart which shows impressive performance for price. It clears 12 inches of fluffy snow without hesitation so it can handle more too. It handles 8 inches of wet snow well too.

It throws snow quite far as well but it doesn’t have adjustable throttle control.

PowerSmart DB7622H doesn’t have electric start but still is rather easy to start, usually takes no more than 2 pulls to fire it up!

Transmission

PowerSmart DB7622H is self-propelled and has versatile drive system with 4 forward speeds and 2 backward. It has 13 inch inflatable tires with decent tread but it can be a bit difficult to maneuver at times.

Quality

Overall quality of PowerSmart DB7622H snow blower is good – blades and impeller are made of steel, housing is made of metal too however there are parts that feel cheap, chute for example which is made of plastic and doesn’t feel sturdy.

Features

Other than previously mentioned features PowerSmart DB7622H has adjustable metal skid shoes. Chute rotates 180 degrees. PowerSmart DB7622H is CARB compliant.

Assembly

You will have to do some assembly before you can use your PowerSmart DB7622H – you have to install handle, attach auger and drive cables, assemble chute, install skid shoes and adjust them – whole process is pretty simple. Assembly instructions albeit a bit vague are helpful enough.

Conclusions

PowerSmart DB7622H is another great snow blower from PowerSmart that outperforms some units that cost nearly twice as much. Yes, there are better units out there, but good luck finding something that’s as good as DB7622H for less money.
