Phiestina PH-CWR100 33-Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler Review

Phiestina PH-CWR100 is a dual zone wine cooler that holds up to 33 bottles, at least according to manufacturer. In reality the chances are you will be able to fit just 28 bottles of most common shapes. Since shelves are a bit shallow larger bottles might not fit at all.

Phiestina PH-CWR100 uses compressor for cooling. Upper zone has adjustable temperature from 40°F to 50°F (5°C to 10°C) and lower zone from 50°F to 66°F (10°C to 18°C). Temperatures seem to be accurate and stay consistent.

Whole unit tends to get warm or even hot which is most pronounced when it’s cooling. One of the reasons that could explain it is the lack of front venting which Phiestina PH-CWR100 doesn’t have. That’s also the reason why it can’t be used as built-in appliance but instead works only as a freestanding unit and requires some clearance.

Features

Phiestina PH-CWR100 isn’t feature rich, in that sense it’s a pretty basic wine cooler. It has blue LED interior lighting which looks nice but most wine coolers have this feature and often looks even more fancy.

Shelves are made of beech wood and have tow stoppers. The quality is pretty nice.

Control panel

Control panel of Phiestina PH-CWR100 features two temperature readout LCD display (one for each zone) and 6 buttons. Each zone has it’s separate buttons for temperature adjustment. Then there’s a button for switching between °F and °C temperature scales and another one that turns on/off interior lighting.

Conclusions

Although temperature control seems to be accurate Phiestina PH-CWR100 does lack front venting meaning it cannot be built-in and causes whole unit to be warm due to poor temperature dissipation. Also it lacks many features other wine coolers have.

On the other hand it’s less expensive than other units that do have front venting and other features (like aobosi/AAOBOSI YC-100B).
