OSTBA FM302 5.5Qt Stand Mixer Review

OSTBA FM302 is a stand mixer equipped with 600 watt motor and 5.5-quart mixing bowl. It has 8 speed settings.

Performance

Motor is plenty powerful however attachments don’t reach the bottom of the bowl meaning you will have to scrape quite often. Other than that it works just fine. It’s not too loud and does the job albeit with some inconveniences.

Quality

Housing is made of die-cast aluminum which is very uncommon for stand mixers in this price class, similarly priced stand mixers are usually made of plastic. Despite that the overall quality is mediocre, this stand mixer feels somewhat cheap. KitchenAid stand mixers are in whole another league.

Attachments

OSTBA FM302 stand mixer comes with dough hook, wire whip and flat beater. The attachments could be sturdier.

Features

OSTBA FM302 features include tilt-head design, suction cups at the bottom and splash guard (made of ABS plastic).

Other

There is no handle on the bowl which makes it uncomfortable to hold especially with dough inside.

Verdict

Overall OSTBA FM302 is a mediocre stand mixer. It does the job but it’s far from perfect. The reason why it’s so much cheaper than KitchenAid stand mixers is that it’s nowhere near as good. Stand mixers like KitchenAid KSM150PS and KitchenAid Professional 600 Series are superior to OSTBA FM302, but if you don’t want to spend a lot of money then OSTBA might be good enough if you have realistic expectations.
