Northair 574BG50001N is a chest freezer with 5.0 cubic feet capacity. It has adjustable temperature from 6.8°F to -4°F and consumers 0.6 kWh per 24 hours.
Operation
Before you turn on Northair 5.0 cubic feet chest freezer you have to let it sit upright for 24 hours to let coolant fluids to settle in.
Once you have done that it doesn’t disappoint. It cools down reasonably fast, is quiet and can achieve promised temperature (-4°F on coldest setting). It works well and you can’t complain.
Controls
Northair 5.0 cubic feet chest freezer has thermostat with 7 temperature settings. Setting 1 turns it off , setting 2 will give chamber temperature of around 6.8°F and setting 7 around -4°F.
The actual chamber temperatures can vary a bit depending on air temperature but generally settings 6 and 7 are below 0 Fahrenheit whereas the rest are above.
Other than thermostat dial it also has 2 indicator light – “Power” (power on) and “Run” (compressor is running) that will illuminate to inform you that chest freezer is working.
Features
Northair 5.0 cubic feet chest freezer has lid that stays open on itself at 45 and 90 degree angles. Inside you will find 3 hanging wire storage baskets.
It also has easy to access drain plug in the front which will be handy when you defrost the chest freezer.
It doesn’t have any wheels though which makes moving it more difficult.
Conclusions
Northair 5.0 cubic feet chest freezer works just fine. It’s relatively quiet and can achieve negative Fahrenheit temperatures without any problem.
