MOOSOO YT-E-005B 26.5lbs/24h Countertop Ice Maker Review

MOOSOO YT-E-005B is a portable countertop ice maker that’s equipped with R600a refrigerant and can make up to 26.5 lbs of ice cubes in 24 hours.

Ice production

Makes 9 ice cubes every 7-10 minutes. They are bullet shaped with hollow middle. The quality is good and so is size, they aren’t super small like some of the other ice makers produce.

First few batches might be of lower quality – ice cubes will be smaller and less dense. This is because ice maker needs some time to cool down for optimal performance.

Before you start using MOOSOO YT-E-005B you should let it sit for at least 4 to 6 hours to let refrigerant fluids to settle in.

Control panel

Control panel features 1 button and indicator light. The only button as you might expect is turns ice maker on or off when you press it however if you hold it for about 5 seconds it will make MOOSOO YT-E-005B start self-cleaning mode.

Two of the indicator lights are for warning you when water reservoir is empty or ice basket full. Third indicator light is simply “working indicator”.

Features

MOOSOO YT-E-005B features translucent window, automatic cleaning function and sensors that detect when ice basket is full or water reservoir empty. When it detects either ice maker will beep for 5 seconds and pause ice production until you fix the issue.

Ice basket holds approximately 70-80 ice cubes and ice maker fills it up in under 2 hours. Ice basket is not refrigerated so ice cubes left there will slowly melt. If you want to store ice cubes for later use you will have to put them in freezer.

MOOSOO YT-E-005B has stainless steel housing and is ETL certified.
