Magic Chef MCWC6B 6-Bottle Wine Cooler – Review

Magic Chef MCWC6B is a small, inexpensive wine cooler for those that don’t have a huge wine collection but want to have few bottles of cooled wine at their hand.

Magic Chef MCWC6B wine cooler fits 6 standard sizes wine bottles. For bottles that are larger than the standard size you will have to take off top rack.

Chamber temperature can be adjusted from 46°F to 64 °F however since this unit is small and uses thermoelectric cooling system its performance is affected by ambient temperature. In warmer ambient temperatures it might not make wine exactly as cold as more expensive and advanced units but it still will be cool.

Control panel

Control panel is as super basic – there is just a single dial to adjust temperature and a switch to turn on/off the inside lighting.

The dial for temperature adjustment is very small so it’s not that comfortable to use but that’s not a significant issue as you probably won’t have to adjust it often.

The light switch might be hard to access when top shelf is full.

Magic Chef MCWC6B doesn’t have a temperature readout so if you want to know the temperature inside the chamber you will need a thermometer for that.

Features

Magic Chef MCWC6B has built-in soft blue LED lighting that illuminates chamber in a beautiful way. It seems like it cannot be turned off however as there is no button for that.

Magic Chef MCWC6B has two sculpted chrome shelves that are removable. Legs are adjustable for uneven surfaces.

It’s a sleek looking machine. Probably no one will mistake it for an expensive unit but it looks decent.

Conclusions

Magic Chef MCWC6B is good enough for your average consumer that looks for an inexpensive way to keep his wine cool but if you are a hard-core wine lover then you probably need a more advanced unit.
