KRUPS BW260850 Cool-Touch Stainless Steel Double Wall 1.5L Electric Kettle (Review)

KRUPS BW260850 is electric kettle with 1.5 liter capacity and 1500 watt power supply.

Performance

KRUPS BW260850 brings water to boil in reasonably fast time (within couple to few minutes depending on water temperature). Same could be said about most of the other modern electric kettles as they typically have the same capacity and power supply as KRUPS BW260850 so even though it performs well in this regard it’s not much different than competitors.

The interior is made of stainless-steel interior including pot, spout, lid and rim. The water doesn’t directly touch any plastic parts (which is uncommon but not unheard of on similarly priced electric kettles) however there is a small plastic part at the very top of the pot where the handle connects that steam can come into contact.

Water does taste pure without any plastic smell or taste. The spout is well designed allowing water to pour nicely without splashing.

Double wall design

KRUPS BW260850 has double wall design that works as insulation. There are two benefits to this: First, the housing of the kettle remains safe to touch (it doesn’t get hot). Second, water remains warm longer.

Features

KRUPS BW260850 features include 360° rotational base, automatic shutoff, on/off indicator light built-in inside the on/off switch and cord storage inside the base of the kettle.

Drawbacks

Pot isn’t see-through and doesn’t have glass window. There’s also only one volume indicator (1.5 liters) inside the kettle. For these reasons it’s not as easy to check how much water is inside the kettle as it’s with some of the competitor models.

Verdict

KRUPS BW260850 works just fine and has some features that you don’t typically see on electric kettles this affordable making it a good value for money.
