Koolatron KTCF99 3.5 Cubic Foot Chest Freezer Review (99 Liters)

Koolatron KTCF99 is a compressor cooled chest freezer with 3.5 cubic feet (99 liter) storage capacity. It uses R600a CFC-free refrigerant with temperature adjustable from -11.2°F to 32°F (-24°C to 0°C).

Performance

Despite being pretty cheap for a chest freezer it surprisingly works just fine. It’s spacious, quiet and cools down fast. From performance standpoint what else could you ask for?

Shipping damage

The only problem with Koolatron KTCF99 is that it’s not securely packaged which causes it to be often dented during shipping. It’s a shame that such a good product that’s also cheap just doesn’t have any protection in packaging. Polystyrene foam is not expensive and surely they could add some. Even if it caused a slight increase in price it would be totally worth it.

It doesn’t always arrive dented, but considering amount of complaints from consumers it’s still something that happens on somewhat common basis.

Temperature is adjusted with a dial. Below it you will notice a green indicator light which illuminates when chest freezer is turned on.

For the money Koolatron KTCF99 is amazing chest freezer considering how inexpensive it’s. It’s a shame that it’s so poorly packaged which is really the only negative about this product as you don’t know whether it will arrive with dents or not. Most of the time some dents won’t affect functionality or performance of a chest freezer but when you buy brand new you want it to look new.
