KICHOT SM-1533 4.8-Quart 350W Stand Mixer Review

KICHOT SM-1533 is a stand mixer with 4.8-quart mixing bowl and 350 watt motor. It’s a lot more affordable than KitchenAid stand mixers so can it be a good alternative?

Performance

KICHOT SM-1533 does a decent job of mixing batters and doughs however it’s not as good as KitchenAid models. It’s not as efficient at mixing and dough seems to stick on sides more often requiring you to scrape more.

KICHOT SM-1533 has 10 speed settings + “Pulse” mode which is more than most other similarly priced stand mixers have.

Another thing to mention is that KICHOT SM-1533 is quite loud which is very common for cheaper stand mixers.

Quality

Build quality isn’t bad but compared to KitchenAid stand mixers KICHOT SM-1533 feels cheap. It’s mostly made so it’s not as sturdy however it’s very lightweight since plastic doesn’t weigh much. Attachments feel flimsier than KitchenAid ones as well.

KICHOT SM-1533 4.8-quart stand mixer comes with whisk, dough hook, beater, egg white separator,  silicone spatula, stainless steel bowl and splash guard cover.

Features

KICHOT SM-1533 is equipped with very strong suction cups that keep it in place when mixing. It also features tilt-head design.

Verdict

Not as good as a KitchenAid KSM150PS Artisan but as a budget alternative it works. If this will be your first stand mixer you will likely like it however if you have had experience with KitchenAid stand mixers in the past then you will probably be a bit disappointed with this one.
