Keter Glenwood 101-Gallon Outdoor Storage Deck Box Review

Keter Glenwood 101 gallon deck box is currently one of the most sold deck boxes in North America however it’s quite inexpensive which raises a question is it any good?

Quality

Admittedly the quality is kinda mediocre. Keter Glenwood 101 gallon deck box is made of polypropylene resin plastic. The problem doesn’t lie in the material – polypropylene resin deck boxes can actually be quite sturdy if designed properly however the problem with Keter Glenwood is that panels are thin.

The first impressions are the worst – panels feel really flimsy. Once you assemble the box it’s actually not that bad, it’s sturdy enough for the purpose of storing items but still something you would overall describe as flimsy.

According to Keter lid can support 530 lbs of weight. Honestly it doesn’t feel sturdy enough to handle that much weight safely. It might be able, but it doesn’t feel safe.

Weatherproofness

Keter Glenwood 101 gallon deck box is ventilated to prevent mold and mildew however it seems to be quite watertight too. It’s unlikely rain water will get inside the deck box.

Features

Keter Glenwood has hydraulic pistons which keeps lid open for easy loading/unloading. This feature is especially appreciated as deck boxes of this pricing usually have plastic hinges that have questionable longevity.

It also has handles on sides for easier moving although there are not the most comfortable ones. It doesn’t have wheels though so you won’t be able to move it with heavy items stored inside.

Assembly

For most it will take 30-60 minutes to assemble Keter Glenwood deck box. It’s not the simplest deck box to assemble but it’s not too difficult. You will need screwdriver though.

Conclusions

Keter Glenwood is a bit flimsy but it’s unlikely you will be able to find anything sturdier with similar storage capacity and price. So for the money it’s a decent box, but it’s a budged priced one with “budget” quality.
