Keter Borneo 97/105/110 Gallon Outdoor Storage Deck Box Review

Keter Borneo is outdoor deck box with 110 gallon storage capacity… That’s at least what it’s sold as yet instructions state storage capacity as 105 gallons. That’s not the end of this. Since interior dimensions are as 45” by 23.4” by 21.3” we can calculate that storage capacity is 22,428.9 cubic inches which equals to 97 gallons. This is not a good way to start…

Quality

Just like pretty much all inexpensive storage boxes Keter Borneo is also made of polypropylene plastic. Quality is pretty good for an inexpensive unit and it’s quite sturdy as well.

According to Keter lid can support 484 lbs of weight so you can sit on it.

Weatherproofness

Keter Borneo seems to be very watertight as rain water doesn’t seem to get inside. It can’t be called waterproof though as water would likely get in if you fully submerged it due to ventilated interior (which is necessary to prevent mold.

Features

Keter Borneo deck box has hydraulic pistons for easy lid opening and soft closing so it won’t snap on anyone’s fingers which is an important feature if you have kids.

It can also be locked with a padlock but you will have to buy one separately as it doesn’t come with the deck box.

Assembly

Assembly is simple and intuitive. Instructions are good too. Most of assembly is snapping panels together but you will also need a screwdriver.

Conclusions

For the money Keter Borneo is a pretty good deck box but the confusion with actual storage capacity leaves unpleasant impressions.
