Kalamera makes countless different models of wine coolers so determining which is the best one for you can be a difficult task. In this article you will find which Kalamera wine coolers are the best, which model meets your requirements the best as well how good or bad they really are.

#1 Kalamera KRC-46DZB

Kalamera KRC-46DZB is a dual zone wine cooler that holds up to 46 bottles of wine. How many you can actually fit inside depends on the shape and size of bottles but you should be able to fit 40 inside or close to it.

The smaller, upper zone, features 2 shelves where temperature can be set anywhere from 40°F to 50°F. Larger, lower zone, features 4 shelves and you can set temperature there from 50°F to 66°F.

Kalamera KRC-46DZB works well for the most part. The temperature control in lower zone seems to be accurate and consistent, it’s good in the upper zone for the most part too but temperature can be off by couple degrees.

Control panel

Each temperature zone has separate LCD display and buttons for temperature adjustment. Other than that Kalamera KRC-46DZB has two more buttons: one for turning interior light on/off and another one for switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature scales.

#2 Kalamera KRC-150CB-TGD Wine/Beverage Cooler

Kalamera KRC-150CB-TGD is a beverage cooler with 2 temperature zones – one is designed for bottles of wine and the other one for cans. Left zone holds up to 20 wine bottles in which you can set temperature from 40°F to 66°F (4.4°C to 18.9°C). Right zone holds up to 78 cans and has temperature range of 38°F to 55°F (3.3°C to 12.8°C). Since wine bottles vary in shape and size so does the amount you can fit inside.

Temperature control is mostly accurate and quite consistent. Kalamera KRC-150CB-TGD can struggle to maintain temperature if it’s fully loaded with beverages or close to it. Also keep in mind that at 38°F your beer will be cold, but it won’t be quite ice cold. When it comes to left temperature zone 40°F to 66°F covers all optimal temperatures for any type of wine.

Control panel

Each temperature zone has separate control panel. Each control panel has LCD display and 4 buttons:

  • ”Up” button: Increases temperature by 1 degree.
  • ”Down” button: Decreases temperature by 1 degree.
  • ”Power” button: Turns cooling on or off.
  • ”Light” button: Turns blue LED interior lights on or off.

Features

Both doors can be locked and have two-layered transparent glass that blocks UV-rays. It also has front vent which means it can be used for built-in application.

Shelves

Left temperature zone for wine has 7 sliding beech wooden shelves whereas right zone which is best suited for cans has 5 stainless steel wire shelves.

Recommended dimensions for built-in application are as follows: 23.8” wide, 22.4” deep, 34.1” high.

Conclusions

Kalamera KRC-150CB-TGD is a good choice if you want to keep cool other beverages too not just wine.

#3 Kalamera KRC-30SZB Wine Cooler

In some cases temperature can be off by few degrees so it’s recommended you put thermometer inside to adjust it if necessary. Also temperature does fluctuate as compressor only kicks once in a while which can be issue if you need your wine to be precisely at a specific temperature.

Control panel

Kalamera KRC-30SZB is equipped with LCD display that shows selected temperature setting and 4 buttons: two for temperature adjustment, one for switching between temperature scales and another one for turning chamber light on or off.

#4 Kalamera KRC-52SZF Wine Cooler

Kalamera KRC-52SZF is a compressor cooled wine cooler. It offers amazing holding capacity of up to 50 wine bottles but since they come in different sized and shapes you can realistically expect to fit around 40 inside.

Temperature inside the 4.2 cubic foot (120 liter) chamber can be adjusted from 40°F to 66°F covering optimal temperatures for both red and white wines as well other types.

Cooling

Being pretty inexpensive unit for what it offers there are some slight imperfections in the way it operates. First, temperature isn’t distributed across the chamber perfectly even. The temperatures can differ by up to 2 degrees between top and the bottom of the wine cooler. Probably not an issue that matters to you unless you are Sommelier.

Second, temperatures can fluctuate, sometimes by as high as 5 degrees. Fluctuations are temporary and doesn’t typically have significant impact on the temperature of wine itself.

Third, sides and top can get very warm. This is perhaps due to lack of front vent which also means that this wine cooler can be used only for freestanding application.

Overall it will keep your wine around the desired temperature but there are some nuances.

Control panel

Controls are very similar to most other wine coolers. There’s and LCD display that shows selected temperature settings as well 4 button:

  • ”Up” button: Press to increase temperature.
  • ”Down” button: Press to decrease temperature.
  • ”°C/°F” button: Press to switch between temperature scales (Celsius and Fahrenheit).
  • ”Light” button: Press to turn interior light on or off.

Energy consumption

EnergyGuide estimated yearly electricity consumption for Kalamera KRC-52SZF is 261 kWh. That’s about 0.71 kWh per day.

Weight and size

Kalamera KRC-52SZF has net weight of 82.67 lb and gross weight of 94.31 lb. Dimensions of the wine cooler are as follows: 19.5” by 33.07” by 22.83” (W x D x H). Dimensions of packaging are 25.8” by 42.9” by 28.8”.

Conclusions

Kalamera KRC-52SZF is a great option if you are looking for relatively inexpensive wine cooler with large storage capacity. It’s however the only one in this list that cannot be used for built-in application.
