Cooking

Instant Vortex 5.7-quart air fryer heats up fast and cooks quite well. For example chicken wings come out crispy and are delicious. Works great for other meals too including nuggets, burgers, bacon and many more. Everything comes out rich in flavor.

Only issue is that you will likely notice burnt/toxic smell the first time you use the air fryer. This is absolutely normal for air fryers and you can easily get rid of it. And easy and simple solution is to simply do empty air fry cycle. More complex but effective solution is cooking sliced pieces of lemon, lemon juice or vinegar. Usually one cycle is enough to get rid of the smell but sometimes it might require multiple.

Air fry basket has nonstick coating and is dishwasher safe however it does contain BPA.

Verdict

Overall this is a pretty good air fryer. It cooks well and is simple to use. The only concerning thing is that the air fry basket does contain BPA and if you find that concerning perhaps you should look for different model that doesn’t.
