Instant Pot Omni Plus Air Fryer Toaster Oven Combo

Instant Pot Omni Plus is a 10-in-1 air fryer/toaster/convection oven combo with 18 liter (19 quart) internal volume. It has 1800 watt power supply and temperature range of 85°F to 450°F (selectable range depends on cooking function you use).

Instant Omni Plus cooks food well and evenly. It has various smart programs including “Air Fry” which crisps french fries and tater tots nicely. There’s some learning curve as you will have to use slightly lower temperature and/or time than with regular oven.

Instant Pot Omni Plus air fryer oven has EvenCrisp TECHNOLOGY that allegedly drives air flow top down giving food more pronounced golden finish and crispy exterior. It’s hard to say whether EvenCrisp TECHNOLOGY is a marketing trick or something that actually makes it work better than other countertop ovens however it can achieve pretty crispy results with “Air Fry’’ smart program so you might as well assume it does work.

There are 8 Smart programs: Air fry, roast, broil, bake, warm, reheat, toast and dehydrate. There’s also “Rotate” mode for rotisserie which works with “Air Fry”, “Bake” and “Roast” smart programs. You can also select low or high convection fan speed with “Roast”, “Broil”, “Bake”, “Reheat” and “Dehydrate” smart programs.

Most of the smart programs work really well but some are not perfect. For example “Toast” works reasonably well but you will be better off with a regular toaster.

Rotisserie feature isn’t perfect either. Even though Instant Omni Plus does take considerable amount of space on countertop the interior volume isn’t large enough to be optimal for regular sized chickens. You can rotisserie cook cornish hen just fine however a regular chicken might not fit properly (depends on its size).

Noise

As far as noise goes Instant Pot Omni Plus can be somewhat noisy at times. For example fan at maximum speed is a bit noisy but it’s not terribly loud.

Instant Pot Omni Plus also does beep a lot and the beeps are loud. If you do find audible alarms to be annoying then you can turn them off by holding dial for few seconds while in standby mode.

Accessories

Instant Pot Omni Plus comes with oven rack, cooking pan, air fryer basket, rotisserie lift and rotisserie spit, forks as well setting screws. Some consumers have had issues with oven rack being slightly too narrow for bottom tray levels.

Control panel

Instant Pot Omni Plus control panel features display screen, status-bar and touch sensitive buttons. Display screen can show different status messages including when it’s in standby mode (“Off”), when it’s preheating (“On”), when the oven door is open (“OPEN”), toasting darkness level (from 1 to 5), when the food should be flipped/rotated (“turn Food” – applies only when using “Air Fry”, “Roast” and “Bake” smart programs) and more.

On the bottom of the control panel you will find button for all smart programs. On the left side there are 3 buttons: “Convect” (for selecting low or high fan speed), “Rotate” (for using rotisserie) and “Light” (turns interior light on or off).

On the right side you only have to buttons: “Start” and “Cancel” which are self-explanatory.

On the top of the control panel you will find Status Bar with 3 steps: “Preheating”, “Cooking” and “Keep Warm”. Instant Pot Omni Plus will only preheat when using Air Fry, Roast or Bake smart programs. “Cooking” status step is pretty obvious – it means the food is currently being cooked. One food has finished cooking unit will enter into “Keep Warm” mode to keep your food warm.

Clearance

As it’s common with countertop ovens the housing of Instant Pot Omni Plus air fryer oven does get hot too. For this reason you have to leave at least 5 inches (13 centimeters) on top and all sides.

Instant Pot Omni Plus air fryer oven weighs 25.43 pounds (11.56 kilograms) and measures 15.75 inches wide, 16.54 inches deep and 13.9 inches tall (40 centimeters x 42 centimeters x 35.3 centimeters).

Other

Instant Omni Plus air fryer oven has double-glass door which improves insulation making cooking more efficient. It also has various safety features including overheat protection and auto shut-off.

Verdict

Instant Pot Omni Plus air fryer oven isn’t perfect however it cooks well and is versatile without being too expensive.
