Cooking with Instant Pot Duo Mini

Instant Pot Duo Mini cooks exceptionally well which isn’t all that surprising as Instant Pot is market leader when it comes to pressure cookers. Food comes out well cooked, rich in flavor and delicious.

Pressure cookers also make cooking very simple and fast – just throw ingredients inside the cooking pot and select appropriate cooking settings. Even bad cooks become great chef’s with a good pressure cooker and good cooks will appreciate the convenience. Perhaps that’s why pressure cookers are so popular!

Cooking functions

Instant Pot Duo Mini has 7 pressure cooking modes: pressure ccok, soup/broth, meat/stew, bean/chili, rice, porridge and steam) as well 4 regular modes (slow cook, yogurt, sauté, keep warm).

Each cooking function also has 3 modes: less, normal and more. What they do depends on each cooking function (it’s explained in the manual). For example with Meat/Stew cooking function “less” means soft texture, “normal” means “very soft texture” and “more” means fall-off-the-bone meat texture.

If you want for pressure cooker to keep food warm after cooking hah finished press keep warm button after it starts cooking. Keep warm function will work for 10 hours after which pressure cooker will automatically turn off unless you turn it off sooner.

Inner cooking pot

Inner cooking pot is made of stainless steel. It has internal volume of 3 quarts which is enough to cook for 1-2 people but might be too small for larger families or if you want leftovers.

Control panel

Control panel is very similar to what you would find on most pressure cookers. It’s fairly simple to use. You have buttons for all the cooking functions as well “Delay Start” (allows you to make pressure cooker cook later), “Pressure Level” (toggles between low and high pressure modes), ‘’Cancel’’, “-” and “+”.

Before First Use

Inner pot should be washed before first use. You can wash it with hot water and dish soap. Afterwards rinse it with clean water and dry with soft cloth (make sure it’s completely dried before cooking).
