Instant Omni Pro 19 QT/18L Air Fryer Toaster Oven Combo Review

Instant Omni Pro is air fryer toaster oven with 14-in-1 functionality. It’s equipped with 1800 watt power supply and has selectable temperature range of 70°F to 450°F (21°C to 232°C) depending on cooking function you are using.

Instant Omni Pro has 10 smart programs (air fry, roast, broil, bake, slow cook, warm, reheat, proof, toast and dehydrate) as well 2 convection modes: low and high.

For the most part Instant Omni Pro cooks really well however it’s not perfect. For example chicken wings in front of the oven seem to end up crispier than the ones in the back so it seems like temperature distribution isn’t perfectly even however the difference isn’t significant so it’s still decent.

“Baking” smart program sometimes doesn’t deliver expected results too – for example muffins can come out overcooked on the outside but undercooked on inside. Perhaps it can be attributed to lack of experience and require some experimentation to figure out (perhaps using lower temperature than usual would work better??).

Air frying works very well. It gives food a very crispy texture on the outside however you will have to flip the contents to get it evenly on both sides. End results are delicious and pleasant.

Toaster function toasts very well too (almost as good as regular toasted) which is often no the case with countertop ovens.

Instant Omni Pro comes with rotisserie kit (spit and accessories). It unfortunately doesn’t come with rotisserie basket (which is something that some of the less expensive models do).

These countertop ovens don’t have the internal size of regular oven so you can’t fit a large chicken inside. With Instant Omni Pro chicken that’s more than 4 pounds will most likely not work with rotisserie. Other than the fact that you can only cook a small chicken or cornish hen the rotisserie works very well – results are great.

Noise

The fan does make some noise, particularly on high convection mode but it’s not terribly loud.

Accessories

Oven rack, cooking pan, air fry basket, temperature probe and rotisserie accessories (lift, spit, forks and setting screws).

There seems to be occasional quality control issue as considerable amount of consumers have reported that the rack is very slightly too narrow for some or all tray levels (it varies from unit to unit).

Control panel

Instant Omni Pro air fryer toaster oven has touch sensitive backlit buttons and display screens. It’s overall pretty easy to use as controls are intuitive.

On the left of the control panel you have touch sensitive buttons for various functions like low/high convection mode, interior light, rotisserie rotation and SplitCook feature. On the bottom you have buttons for various cooking programs.

In the center you have display screens that show current and target oven/probe temperature, time left, toast darkness and buttons for adjustments.

If you want to adjust temperature just touch display screen that’s responsible for showing temperature and use up and down buttons. Same thing goes for cooking time or toast darkness.

What’s unusual is that you can adjust temperature in 1 degree increments which allows you to be very precise (on most countertop ovens with digital controls adjustments are done in 5 or 10 degree increments).

Verdict

Instant Omni Pro is very versatile and most of the time cooks well however it’s not without some minor flaws. Is this the countertop oven you should buy? It’s hard to say. Instant Omni Pro is a bit more expensive than most countertop ovens however it’s far from being the most expensive one. It’s decision you have to make and in the meanwhile you can also check and consider other models like Breville BOV845BSS and Ninja DT251 Foodi or even top-of-the-line cutting-edge June Smart Oven if the price tag doesn’t scare you away.
