IKICH Portable Ice Maker Machine Review

IKICH portable ice maker machine is capable of producing up to 26 pounds of ice in 24 hours – that’s is industry average in this price class – nearly all ice makers of similar pricing have same ice output.

IKICH ice machine produces a batch of 9 bullet shaped ice cubes every 6 to 13 minutes – usually it takes 7-8 minutes if you are producing small sized ice cubes. Ice quality is decent but ice cubes comes out wet and can stick to each other. They aren’t hard to break up though.

It can make ice cubes of two different sizes: small and large. Small ice cubes are about 2 cm wide and 2.5 cm long (~0.78″ x 0.98″) and large ones are approximately (~0.98″ x ~1.2″). It must be noted that those figures are approximate and actual size depends on air temperature.

Materials

IKICH countertop ice maker is mostly made of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plactic shell, polypropylene and nickel plated copper.

It has copper aluminum fin condenser and uses 21g R600a refrigerant. Evaporator is made of nickel plated pure copper – material that has strong corrosion resistance and allows rapid refrigeration.

IKICH ice maker also features high-density polyurethane foam layer for heat insulation that slows down melting of ice cubes while they are stores in ice basket.

Features

IKICH ice maker has 2 infrared sensors that detect when ice bucket is full and water reservoir empty to stop producing ice.

Interface is simple is very simple, there are only 2 buttons:

1. On/Off Button
2. Ice cube size select button

There are also 5 indicator lights that light up if:

• You have to add water in water reservoir
• Ice bucket is full
• Ice machine is turned on
• Small ice cube size is selected
• Large ice cube size is selected

IKICH portable ice machine measures 12.3 inches long, 8.7 inches wide and 12.6 inches tall. It weighs 7.1 kg (~15.6 lbs).

Water reservoir has a capacity of 2 liters and ice basket can hold 1.5 lbs of ice cubes – less than most ice machines in this price class but it’s not of significant importance and certainly not a deal-breaker.

Conclusions
