Husqvarna T435 12″ Chainsaw Review (966997203)

Husqvarna T435 966997203 is a relatively lightweight top-handle saw which is designed for tree work at height like tree pruning and allows operation with one hand if necessary, it’s however not a good design for ground work.

Husqvarna T435 has 35.2cc 2-stroke engine that outputs 2.01 horsepower. It’s equipped with 12-inch bar and chain.

Cutting performance

Husqvarna T435 feels mediocre out of the box – it cuts somewhat decent but a bit more power wouldn’t hurt it however biggest issue is that throttle response is not good.

Good news are that both the power and throttle response can be significantly improved with some slight alterations, unfortunately it will likely void warranty. Taking out muffler screen out helps but doing a proper muffler mod makes it feel like almost a different chainsaw – suddenly it has a lot more power which allows to cut it a lot better. Carb adjustment might be advantageous as well.

Out of the box it’s not a bad chainsaw, just a bit mediocre, but with some modifications it can be vastly improved. Doing them might have some negative consequences though like voided warranty and increased emissions or other unpredictable consequences if you do it wrong which is why we can’t recommend doing them for legal reasons but at the end of the day it’s your decision.

Even though Husqvarna T435 is mainly a climbing saw it can be okay’ish for other lighter duty jobs for woods up to 8-12 inches in diameter.

Features

Husqvarna T435 has automatic oiler with adjustable oil flow, LowVib® System that reduces vibration, quick-release air filter and inertia activated chain brake. Chainbrake is tight and stiff and it doesn’t seem to get much better with use.

Husqvarna T435 is easy to use – it’s light and well balanced.

Conclusions

Husqvarna T435 is a decent chainsaw for jobs it’s designed for albeit it does feel a bit flimsy.
