Hauswirt XL 26.5 QT Convection Air Fryer Toaster Oven Combo Review

Hauswirt K5 XL is convection air fryer oven with 26.5 quart capacity and 1200 watt power supply. It has 6 heating elements (4 on top and 2 on bottom) and can cook in temperatures from 85°F to 450°F.

For the most part Hauswirt K5 XL cooks really well. The food is delicious, crispy and evenly cooked. Chicken, french fries, pizza and other meals come out tasting great. Having 6 heating elements certainly helps a lot!

With that being said not everything is perfect. Hauswirt K5 XL is not as powerful as some of the other air fryer ovens so it takes longer to heat up and cook faster. The difference isn’t too significant but there’s some. On the upside it does cook faster than a regular oven and doesn’t heat up your whole house/apartment.

What is perhaps the most bizzare critique is that Hauswirt K5 XL doesn’t have toast cooking mode despite being sold/advertised as convection air fryer toaster oven. It only has 4 cooking modes: bake, air fry, rotate/rotisserie and dehydrate. As you probably suspect Hauswirt K5 XL is not that great at making toast.

The rotisserie feature is very nice addition to an air fryer oven as affordable as this one but in this case it’s a bit finicky and a bit hard to use however it does work. You can cook french fries in the rotating basket or a very small chicken or cornish hen with rotisserie kit.

Interior and Exterior

The housing is mostly made of stainless steel and unit feels fairly sturdy. The interior space measures measures 12 inches wide by 13 inches deep by 7 inches tall and has non-stick enamel coating making it very easy to clean.

The door has dual-glass window that provides improved insulation making air fryer oven more energy efficient and reducing emited heat.

Accessories

Hauswirt 26.5 QT convection air fryer oven comes with quite a lot of accessories including baking pan, fry rack, crumb tray, tray handle, rotisserie kit, rotisserie lifter, fry basket and even oven mitt.

Reliability

Even though majority of consumer feedback is positive it still seems like complaints about this model breaking after less than 1 year of use is a little bit more frequent than usual. It might be just a coincidence though.

Verdict

Hauswirt K5 XL is quite versatile in some ways and accessory-rich for its price however it’s also flawed in multiple ways. It’s not a bad air fryer oven as it cooks quite well most of the time but as an overall package it’s not the best. There are better alternatives available.
