Greenworks Pro 80V 16″ Brushless Chainsaw Review [CS80L2512 2014002AZ]

Greenworks CS80L2512/2014002AZ Pro 80V chainsaw is a new model recently released by the acclaimed electric tool manufacturer with 16-inch bar and chain. So should you really buy one if you are considering to?

Cutting performance

It’s pretty powerful but can still stall if you push it hard. It can cut better than some gas chainsaws but not as good as serious STIHL or Husky chainsaws however the difference isn’t day and night.

Greenworks CS80L2512/2014002AZ will cut wood up to 14 inches in diameter just fine whether it’s hardwood or softwood. It’s unlikely you will find under-powered or be disappointed by the cutting performance even if you are used to gas chainsaws that do cut a bit better, especially since it’s quieter, doesn’t emit harmful fumes, starts up immediately and doesn’t require as much maintenance.

Quality

Quality is decent for residential use but it’s definitely not made for commercial use. For example housing is made of plastic. Reasonably sturdy plastic which should last for years to come for your average homeowner.

Features

Greenworks CS80L2512/2014002AZ has nice metal bucking spikes, chain brake and auto-oiler with translucent oil reservoir window so you can see oil level.

Battery

Greenworks CS80L2512/2014002AZ Pro 80V chainsaw comes with 2.5Ah battery that’s compatible with other Greenworks 80V tools. It doesn’t last very long on full charge so you will likely need a spare, preferably something of higher capacity.

Batteries have built-in indicator lights to show how much charge is left.

Conclusions

Greenworks CS80L2512/2014002AZ Pro 80V is a pretty good electric chainsaw and can outperform some gas chainsaws in cutting speed.
