GoWISE USA 5.0-Quart 1500-Watt Digital Air Fryer Review (GW22821-S)

GoWISE USA GW22821-S is 1,500 Watt digital air fryer with 5 quart basket capacity which is enough to cook food for 3 people or more (depending how large you like your portions). It has 8 cooking presets and option to manually adjust temperature from 180°F to 400°F in 10 degree increments as well setting cooking timer for up to 30 minutes.

Cooking

GoWISE GW22821-S works great for a cheap air fryer. Cooks great and makes food really crispy. Seem to work well with any food you try to cook whether it’s french fries, onion rings, cookies, hamburgers, shrimp, meat, fish etc.

As previously mentioned you can either choose temperature and cooking time on your own or use one of the 8 presets:

• Fries (400°F – 12 minutes).
• Pork (370°F – 25 minutes).
• Shrimp (330°F – 20 minutes).
• Cake (320°F – 30 minutes).
• Chicken (400°F – 20 minutes).
• Steak (370°F – 20 minutes).
• Fish (330°F – 20 minutes).
• Pizza (330°F – 20 minutes).

Presets work really well and makes cooking a lot simpler.

Nonstick coating

Basket features nonstick coating however it unfortunately doesn’t seem to last long and starts to peel off which can also cause metal underneath to start rusting. It doesn’t really affect how food turns out but it’s not a pleasant thing for sure. Perhaps this is not issue with all units, just a few of them.

Control panel

GoWISE GW22821-S had LCD display and 8 buttons: 2 for temperature adjustment, 2 more for cooking time adjustment as well “Power/Resume” (to pause or resume cooking process), “Power/Start” (to turn air fryer on/off or star cooking process), “Menu” (to cycle through presets), “Alarm” (to set beeping alarm after 5, 10 or 15 minutes).

Other

GoWISE GW22821-S makes loud beeps which can be infuriating if you have sensitive hearing or don’t want to wake up family members. It beeps a lot (like when you turn it on or adjust cooking time) but the worst is when it finishes cooking as it then does 5 long, loud beeps.

It’s easy to clean.

Conclusions

GoWISE GW22821-S is not the most advanced digital air fryer you can buy but neither it’s priced as one. For the price it’s a nice unit with one caveat – the nonstick coating can start to peel after a while. How common is that issue with this model is hard to say but it can happen.
