Giantex Portable Charcoal Hibachi Grill Review

Giantex portable charcoal hibachi grill has 106.25 square inches of cooking area – large enough to cook for 2 people, maybe 3 at best. It’s not the cheapest grill of its type but neither is it the most expensive so does it offer good value for money?

Giantex Portable Charcoal Hibachi Grill

Giantex hibachi grill works well. It cooks evenly, sears steaks well and leaves great grill marks. It also holds heat well and uses very little charcoal. You can control temperature by adjusting air flow (by sliding hatch which might work more smoothly). Essentially it has everything you need for delicious results.

Grill grates measures 12.5 inches long by 8.5 inches wide. They are not very large so you can’t really cook a lot of food on them but that’s what you get with a portable unit.

Keep in mind that handles are made of cast iron too and they heat up with the grill so you will burn your hands if you try to pick it up soon after cooking.

Quality

Overall quality is pretty good albeit not perfect. Grill is made of cast iron and feels sturdy. The metal is thick. With that being said some engineering solutions feel a bit sloppy. Sliding hatch for air flow doesn’t slide smoothly. This grill only has 3 legs – it’s stable enough in most situations but can be wobbly sometimes like when you are brushing the surfaces to clean them.

Assembly

Assembly is pretty simple and shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes. Instructions are written in bad english but are still understandable.

Verdict

Giantex portable charcoal hibachi grill offers good compromise between cost and quality. It’s not too expensive and only has minor flaws. It cooks well and and because of thick metal it feels sturdy and will likely last a very long time.
