Fellow Stagg EKG 0.9 Liter Electric Pour Over Gooseneck Kettle Review

Fellow Stagg EKG is electric pour over gooseneck kettle with temperature control. It’s equipped with 1200 watt power supply and can hold up to 0.9 liters of water.

Performance

Fellow Stagg EKG is a bit more powerful than many of the less expensive gooseneck kettles so it heats water a bit faster but the difference isn’t significant. The water smells and tastes pure as you would expect from a kettle with stainless steel body.

The gooseneck spout is exceptionally well designed. The water pours perfectly and doesn’t drip at all (even if you intetionally try to make it drip). The kettle doesn’t require much angle to pour which makes it easier to use.

The main feature of Fellow Stagg EKG is that you can select the temperature water will be warmed up to – anywhere from 135°F to 212°F (57°C to 100°C). This feature works really well and is very accurate with margin of error typically being within 1 degree which is negligible. It’s far more accurate than majority of other electric gooseneck kettles.

Ease of use

Fellow Stagg EKG is well designed. The weight distribution when full of water is excellent making it easy to handle the kettle. Some consumers are not fans of the handle design but it really is fine and maybe just takes some getting used to for some.

Control panel

Fellow Stagg EKG is equipped with display screen and knob for adjustments. Display screen shows 3 things: target temperature of water, current temperature of water and temperature scale used (°F or °C).

Other features

On the back side of the base you will notice two switches. One of the switch is used for switching between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature scales whereas the other one turns “Keep Warm” mode on or off.

If you turn on the “Keep Warm” mode then Fellow Stagg EKG will automatically keep water at selected temperature for 60 minutes.

Quality

Kettle and lid are made of 304 stainless steel – they feel well made and sturdy. The base is made of plastic which is not perfect but doesn’t matter much and is sturdy enough to be honest. Overall quality can be described as very good.

Aesthetics

Fellow Stagg EKG is remarkably beautiful which doesn’t serve a practical purpose but definitely adds to experience of owning one. It’s very pleasent to look at and that certainly makes it more pleasant to use. This is a kettle you will certainly place in an easy to see spot as it works really well as a piece of decor and helps to create charming vibe in your kitchen.

Fellow Stagg EKG is also available with walnut or maple handles if that’s something you are into.

Verdict

Fellow Stagg EKG is a bit expensive but it works great, has very accurate temperature control, feels well made and is very attractive. If you want something special that’s more than just a basic electric kettle this might very well be the model you want.
