Elite Gourmet EKT1001 Electric 1.0L BPA-Free Glass Kettle Review

Elite Gourmet EKT1001 is electric kettle with 1.0 liter (4.2 cups) capacity and 900-1,100 watt power supply.

Performance

Elite Gourmet EKT1001 heats up water fairly fast. It does have less powerful power supply than most electric kettles (they typically have 1500 watts) however it also has smaller maximum capacity (kettles usually have 1.5 to 1.7 liters).

If you generally keep your electric kettle filled to maximum then you won’t notice a difference in heat up times (since smaller capacity and weaker power supply pretty much cancel each out in this reagrd) however electric kettles with 1500 watt heating element will heat up same amount of water faster.

Because of its smaller capacity you will have to refill it more often than larger models however it’s also smaller in size which makes it better for travelling. If you plan to use it in an RV or Truck then smaller wattage might also be what you are looking for.

Volume markings

There are 3 volume indicators printed on glass pot: 0.3 liters (minimum), 0.6 liters and 1.0 liters (maximum). They are only printed on one side though and face you if you hold it with your right hand.

Features

Elite Gourmet EKT1001 has auto-shutoff feature (it will automatically turn off soon after water starts boiling) as well beautiful BLUE led light around the base of glass pot that illuminates when electric kettle is turned on (when it’s warming up the water).

Elite Gourmet EKT100 is not plastic free however it’s BPA-free.

Size

Together with base the kettle is 7.6 inches tall. The widest part of the kettle measures 7.8 inches whereas the diameter of base is 6 inches.

Verdict

Elite Gourmet EKT1001 is a very basic electric kettle without any particularly unique features. It’s however less expensive than large majority of other models so if you want to save money then it might be a decent choice. It’s not better than more expensive models however it works just fine and for many that’s all they need.
