Deco Gear Rapid Electric Party Ice Maker Review

Deco Gear Rapid Electric Party ice maker is a portable ice maker that can produce up to 26 pounds of ice cubes in 24 hours.

Manufacturer claims it makes a batch of 9 bullet shaped ice cubes in as little as 6 minutes. In reality first batch takes about twice as long however the following batches take less. In the air and water temperature are just right it might make a batch in 6 minutes. It does produce enough ice for 1-2 people, but if you are throwing a party it won’t be able to upkeep with demand so you will have to make ice beforehand and store it in freezer.

Deco Gear ice maker can make ice cubes in two sizes: small and large. The difference between the two is slight and even on “Large” setting ice cubes are rather small. Still there is advantage to the large setting as the “Small” ice cubes do melt faster.

Ice cube quality is decent and they are quite chewable. They do come out a bit wet though.

Ice basket can hold up to 1.5 pounds of ice cubes. Capacity of water reservoir 2.3 quarts.

Control panel

Control panel of Deco Gear ice maker is very simple to use. There are only two buttons: for turning the unit on or off and for switching between ice cube sizes.

It also has 5 indicator lights – two of them are warning indicators for when you need to remove ice cubes from ice bin or add more water, other two shows which ice cube size setting you have chosen and the last one shows that unit is turned on.

Noise

Deco Gear Rapid Electric Party ice maker is relatively quiet. It does make a slight hum sound but it’s rather quiet, the only time it’s somewhat loud is when it has finished making a batch of ice cubes and drop them in the ice bin.

Conclusions
