Cusimax CMHP-S150 heats up fairly fast and works/cooks just fine. Unlike induction portable cooktops it’s compatible with any cookware and is quiet unlike some induction portable cooktops that have loudish fans (Cusimax CMHP-S150 has a fan too but it’s not loud).

Temperature adjustments work in a very interesting way. You adjust power supply (wattage) anywhere from 100 to 1,500 watts in 100 watt increments which also determines how hot the stove gets. This can be very useful in various situations like if you use it in RV or have solar powered house where you might want to draw less power for various reasons.

You can actually cook reasonably well while using couple hundred of watts and you can boil water using less than 1,000 (the latter does kind of depend on what size pot you use – larger pots might require more power).

Of course the less power you use the longer it will take to finish the job (due to lower tempratures) but it seems that total energy consumption is lower this way.

It does go to 1500 watt by default every time you turn it on so that’s something you have to keep attention to.

Timer

Cusimax CMHP-S150 1500W hot plate is equipped with timer feature. You can set timer for 1 to 180 minutes and the stove will automatically turn off after selected period of time has passed. It does not have any audible alarms for when it does though.

Other Features

There’s some extra surface area around the heating portion of the hot plate so the pans don’t slide off easily. Even though this does makes the unit slightly larger it’s still compact enough to be portable measuring 18.5 inches in width, 12.13 inches in depth and 4.13 inches in height.

For extra portability it has handles of both sides. They are relatively large in size (on some other portable cooktops they are too small to be comfortable, especially for larger hands).

As far as quality goes it feels fairly nice – the surface is ceramic glass whereas body is made of stainless steel.

Verdict

Cusimax CMHP-S150 is a fairly decent portable stove – it works well, quality is decent, wattage is adjustable, etc. The only thing to complain about is that it’s a bit on expensive side – it’s perhaps a little bit overpriced.
