Cuisinart TOB-260N1 Convection Toaster Oven Air Fryer (Review)
Cuisinart TOB-260N1 is a convection toaster oven with 0.95 cubic foot capacity (~28 quarts) making it a bit larger than most other toaster ovens. It has power supply of 1800 watts and maximum cooking temperature of 500°F which also is higher than most other competing models (they typically top out at 400°F to 450°F).
Cooking with Cuisinart TOB-260N1 Convection Toaster Oven
Cuisinart TOB-260N1 is one of the best cooking toaster ovens for the money. It crisps food very nicely and food like french fries or chicken wings come out near perfect without using any oil. It also cooks food evenly which is not something you can say about many other air fryer ovens. The food tastes better than when cooked with most of the other toaster ovens and is of course delicious.
Temperature is accurate and consistent. Cuisinart TOB-260N1 heats up a lot faster than a regular oven however it might take slightly longer than some of the smaller models even though you probably won’t notice the difference without timing it. It also doesn’t heat up your whole kitchen like a regular oven even some parts of the housing might get a bit hot (handle stays cool though so it’s never an issue to open the oven door).
Cuisinart TOB-260N1 is also quite versatile. It comes with 13-inch pizza stone, two cooking racks, enamel baking pan and broiling pan.
It also has more than 10 cooking functions including toast, bagel, waffle, dual cook (allows you to combine two different cooking functions or two different temperatures within one cooking function), bake, broil, roast, pizza, sandwich, keep warm, leftover, convection and speed convection.
Control panel
Cuisinart TOB-260N1 is equipped with blue-backlit LCD screen, control knob for adjustments and 6 buttons: “+30s” (increases cooking time by smaller margin than control knob), “Conv(ection)”, “Oven light“, “Speed conv(ection)”, “dual cook” and “start/stop“.
There is some learning curve so perhaps you should read manual first but it’s not so complicated that you would say it’s difficult to use. You get hang of it pretty fast and then it becomes like second nature.
Quality
Cuisinart TOB-260N1 is well made. It feels like something that would last for many years to come. Only thing that maybe does feel a bit cheap is the control knob but everything else is solidly made.
Features
With front pull-out crumb tray and nonstick interior Cuisinart TOB-260N1 is easy to clean. It also has light that you can turn on or off (so you can see food cooking/how far it has been cooked) and it beeps when it finishes cooking (you can adjust the loudness of the beeping too!).
Possible issues
Some consumers have reported labels on the buttons fading away yet others have reported not experiencing this particular issue. Perhaps this used to be a problem with older versions of the oven but it’s hard to say.
Another thing worthy of mention is that door has small gap but it doesn’t seem to affect anything negatively. It might even have purpose unclear to us and since it doesn’t affect how Cuisinart TOB-260N1 performs it’s nothing to be concerned about.
Verdict
Cuisinart TOB-260N1 is versatile and cooks exceptionally well without being too expensive. It’s not perfect but it’s certainly a great convection toaster oven for the money.
