Cuisinart CBM-18C Burr Coffee Grinder Review
Cuisinart CBM-18C is medium priced coffee burr grinder from well known kitchen appliance company Cuisinart.
Grinding
Cuisinart CBM-18C has total of 18 grind settings (1-6 for espresso, 7-12 for auto drip and 13-18 for french press) with bean hopper capacity of 8 oz (227 grams) which equals up to 14 cups.
For the most part grinding performance is good, grind is very consistent with only complaint here being that on finest setting grind is not quite fine enough for espresso non-pressurized portafilters (but works great with pressurized ones).
Static cling is a bit of issue (like with most burr grinders) especially since hopper is made of plastic. To prevent this you can give a spray or two of water on the beans before you grind them or put aluminum foil piece in hopper.
Controls
Cuisinart CBM-18C burr grinder features LCD display, grind setting dial and 3 buttons: “# of cups” (cup selector), “Start/Stop” and “Manual” (hold if you want to do manual grind).
Noise
It’s quieter than most burr grinders but like them all it’s still pretty loud nonetheless.
Dimensions and weight
Cuisinart CBM-18C weighs 5.6 lbs and measures 7.68″ by 6.00″ by 10.85”.
Conclusions
Cuisinart CBM-18C is a decent coffee burr grinder for the money. The only minor gripe is hopper, if it was made of glass instead of plastic the static cling would be reduced.
