Crownful IM2102-UL Ice Maker Machine Review
Crownful IM2102-UL ice maker makes a batch of 9 bullet shaped ice cubes every 8-10 minutes.
Ice cubes are about 1.2” x 0.9” big. Ice cube quality is mediocre – they come out pretty wet which perhaps isn’t a deal breaker but it also isn’t desirable at all.
Crownful recommends to operate their ice machine in ambient temperature range of 10℃ – 32℃ (50°F – 90°F) and use water of temperature between 8℃ and 28℃ (46°F – 83°F).
Before using Crownful ice machine for the first time don’t forget to read the user manual and let it stand upright on a flat and level surface for about 2-4 hours before turning it one.
Interface
Interface of Crownful ice machine might be the most basic of all modern ice makers.
It only has 1 button – for turning on/off the machine. It also has just 3 indicator lights:
- To inform whether ice machine is on and making ice
- Whether water needs to be added in water reservoir
- Whether ice storage is full
Features
It doesn’t really have any special features other than ability to register if ice storage is full or water reservoir empty.
Unlike many other ice makers in this price class Crownful IM2102-UL only offers 1 size ice cubes. Neither does it have a timer, schedule options or self-clean mode.
Crownful countertop ice maker measures 31 cm deep, 23 cm wide and 32.5 cm tall (approximately 12.2” x 9” x 12.8”). It has water tank capacity of 1.8 liters – which is less than average and ice storage capacity of 0.8 kg ( ~1.7 lbs) which is slightly above average (enough to hold about 70-80 ice cubes).
Ice bucket is removable and ice machine come with ice scoop.
Conclusions
Crownful IM2102-UL is okay’ish ice maker. It cannot be said it’s a bad one but it does slightly fall behind the best ice machines in its price class in multiple categories. If you are looking for a good ice maker machine you might also want to read our Best Portable/Countertop Ice Makers article.
Already having problems with this ice maker. Made two trays. I turned it off to remove ice and check it out. When i turned it back on reservoir i dicator lamp came on. Drained it.filled it unplugged it. Turned back on..same thing again.
That’s certainly not normal and you should contact manufacturer to get a replacement unit or refund. Unfortunately no matter how good quality control is sometimes there will still be defective units made no matter the product.
I don’t really have any problem with the unit itself. The production of ice is fine. The problem I have is the tank and basket get very dirty after a couple of uses and it gets into the ice. I use filtered water to make the ice so I Don’t know where the dirt comes from.
