Chefman Electric Glass Kettle Review

Chefman RJ11-17-STI-OT is electric kettle with 1500 watt power supply and 1.8 liter capacity meaning it holds a bit more water than most electric kettles (typically 1.5 to 1.8 liters).

Performance

Chefman RJ11-17-STI-OT electric kettle heats up water about as fast as most electric kettles do since they typically have equally powerful power supply (1500 watts). Even though it doesn’t stand out among competition in heat up times it still heats water pretty fast – certainly a lot faster than stovetop or microwave does.

It does hold a little bit more water than most other kettles on the market so you will have to refill it a bit less frequently.

The water tastes and smells like it’s supposed to. The water doesn’t touch any plastics and kettle is BPA-free however steam might touch some plastic parts in the lid.

Chefman RJ11-17-STI-OT comes with removable stainless steel tea infuser. Essentially you can put tea in it and then insert it inside the kettle so it gets brewed immediately.

Volume markings

Chefman electric glass kettle has large see-through borosilicate glass pot with 3 volume markings imprinted on it: 0.8 liters (minimum), 1.0 liters and 1.8 liters (maximum).

Features

Chefman electric glass kettle has various safety features including auto-shutoff, boil-dry protection and stay-cool handle. It also has 360˚ swivel power that allows cord-free pouring.

There’s a beautiful blue LED strip around the base of glass pot that illuminates when water is being heated.

Possible issues

As with any product some of the consumers have had issues with Chefman RJ11-17-STI-OT electric kettle too. The most common issues consumers experienced with this model are lid (hinge) breaking and auto-shutoff feature stopping working. Less common issues seem to be “On/Off” switch not working properly and metal rusting.

To be fair most consumer feedback is positive but you also have to take into account that some issues seem to happen with at least some of the units eventually.

Verdict

Chefman electric glass kettle works fairly well, is aesthetically pleasing and has some features that most kettles don’t. Overall it seems to be a pretty decent unit for the money however some of the consumers have reported some issues.
