Best Chefman Air Fryers (2023 Review)

Chefman makes many different models of air fryers which can make it hard to recognize which one is the right one for you. In this article you will find which Chefman air fryers are the best, whether they meet your needs and how good or bad they really are.

#1 CHEFMAN RJ38-SQ-45T 4.6-Quart Air Fryer

CHEFMAN RJ38-SQ-45T is a basket type air fryer with 4.6 quart capacity (enough to cook for ~3 persons). It’s equipped with 1500 watt heating element and can cook in temperatures from 200°F to 400°F.

CHEFMAN RJ38-SQ-45T cooks well. The meals come out delicious and crispy. Works great for pretty much anything you would cook in air fryer whether it be french fries, chicken wings, onion rings, cookies, veggies or simply reheating food.

Being a less expensive model CHEFMAN RJ38-SQ-45T doesn’t have any presets but that doesn’t make it cook any less good. And to be fair presets aren’t always using best temperature and time settings as they depend on how much food you are cooking but they do work as a general guideline.

Like most air fryers CHEFMAN RJ38-SQ-45T doesn’t heat up your whole kitchen like a regular oven does.

Cooking basket

CHEFMAN RJ38-SQ-45T has 4.6-quart large nonstick cooking basket that’s dishwasher safe.

Control panel

CHEFMAN RJ38-SQ-45T is equipped with display screen and 7 touch sensitive buttons. Since control panel isn’t overcrowded with buttons it’s intuitive and simple to use.

Possible issues

Some consumers have had issue with basket handle breaking but it doesn’t seem to be too common.

CHEFMAN RJ38-SQ-45T air fryer measures 10.5 inches wide by 14 inches deep by 12.75 inches high.

CHEFMAN RJ38-SQ-45T air fryer is cETL certified.

Most consumers will find CHEFMAN RJ38-SQ-45T to be the best CHEFMAN air fryer for their needs. The size is just right to cook for 2-4 people (depending on what food you are cooking), it cooks well, is easy to use and is quite affordable.

#2 Chefman RJ38-6-RDO

Chefman RJ38-6-RDO is oven type air fryer with 6.3 quart capacity. It’s equipped with 1700 watt heating element and has temperature range of 90°F to 400°F. It’s slightly larger, more advanced and versatile air fryer than the RJ38-SQ-45T.

Like all Chefman air fryers RJ38-6-RDO cooks well too. Steaks come out crispy on outside yet stay juicy on inside making them very delicious. It works similarly to a regular air fryer oven only it cooks faster and doesn’t heat up your whole kitchen.

Chefman RJ38-6-RDO air fryer has multiple tray levels and comes with two removable racks so you can cook more food at the same time.

Another cool feature is rotisserie function that allows you to cook a small chicken with rotisserie spit or french fries inside the rotating basket.

Chefman RJ38-6-RDO also has 8 presets that make cooking a bit easier:

  • French fries (40°F for 20 minutes)
  • Meat (400°F for 20 minutes)
  • Fish (400°F for 10 minutes)
  • Shrimp (400°F for 10 minutes)
  • Chicken (380°F for 25 minutes)
  • Rotisserie (400°F for 45 minutes)
  • Bake (350°F for 30 minutes)
  • Dehydrate (140°F for 8 hours)

Chefman RJ38-6-RDO is not as loud as some of the other air fryers but it does beep somewhat loudly five times when it has finished cooking. Some might find beeping a bit obnoxious but others will appreciate having audible alarm for when their food is ready.

Control panel

Chefman RJ38-6-RDO has display screen, dial for temperature and time adjustments as well touch sensitive buttons.

It does have more buttons than RJ38-SQ-45T however the button layout is very logical making it just as easy to use. There are 3 rows of buttons: the upper two are for presets whereas the bottom row is for all the basic functions.

Chefman RJ38-6-RDO comes with 2 air flow racks, rotisserie spit with forks, rotating basket, rotisserie retrieval tool and drip tray.

If you need something more versatile or larger than RJ38-SQ-45T then Chefman RJ38-6-RDO is a great choice.

#3 CHEFMAN 2QT Compact Air Fryer

If you need air fryer just to cook for yourself then CHEFMAN 2-quart model might be the one you are looking for. It’s by far the most basic air fryer from Chefman model lineup however it’s also a lot less expensive.

Despite being the least expensive Chefman air fryer CHEFMAN RJ38-2LM still cooks pretty well. The food tastes good which is what matters the most. This model is equipped with 1,000 watt heating element and has temperature range of 200°F to 400°F.

Even though the 2-quart size is is best for 1 person in some cases it will be sufficient to cook for 2 persons as well.

Cooking basket and tray are top rack dishwasher safe.

CHEFMAN RJ38-2LM has old-school mechanical controls. Basically you get two knobs for adjustments – one for temperature and the other for time.

Most find mechanical controls to be easier to use than digital but they are also slightly less accurate.

CHEFMAN RJ38-2LM is a small and very basic air fryer but that’s exactly what some consumers need. For a cheap, compact air fryer it works just fine.

#4 Chefman RJ38-V3-DC35 TurboFry 3.6-Quart Air Fryer Oven

Chefman RJ38-V3-DC35 TurboFry is an air fryer with 3.6-quart basket – large enough to cook for 2-3 persons. It’s equipped with 1,200 watt heating element and can cook in temperatures ranging from 200°F to 400°F.

Chefman RJ38-V3-DC35 TurboFry cooks reasonably well. It does a decent job of making food crispy albeit more advanced models might perform slightly better in this regard. Nonetheless the food is delicious so there are no disappointments in this aspect.

If you can complain about one thing it’s that this model could have a slightly more powerful heating element. In some cases you can notice it takes longer for it to warm up than some of the other air fryers.

Control panel

Chefman RJ38-V3-DC35 TurboFry is another air fryer with simple mechanical controls. There are two dials for selecting temperature and cooking time – it doesn’t get any more simple than that.

Some consumers have reported having issue with nonstick coating peeling off. It’s hard to estimate how common this issue is and whether it’s caused by doing something you shouldn’t but we will remind you that you shouldn’t use any abrasive materials to clean surfaces with nonstick coating.

Chefman RJ38-V3-DC35 TurboFry is a decent air fryer for the money but some consumers have had issues with nonstick coating peeling off.

#5 Chefman RJ38-10-RDO-V2 Multifunctional Digital Air Fryer

With 10 liter (10.57 quarts) cooking capacity Chefman RJ38-10-RDO-V2 is the largest and most advanced air fryer in this article. It’s equipped with 1,700 watt heating element.

Chefman RJ38-10-RDO-V2 cooks really well. Even though some of the smaller air fryers uses the same heating element Chefman RJ38-10-RDO-V2 still manages to cook food fast. The results are great too: meals are delicious and crispy. Best example of this are french fries and steaks which preserve all the juices inside.

Chefman RJ38-10-RDO-V2 has 3 tray levels and comes with 3 racks so it works as a smaller oven. It also has rotisserie function which is a bit difficult to use but it works.

Control panel

Chefman RJ38-10-RDO-V2 has LCD display and touch-sensitive buttons.

Chefman RJ38-10-RDO-V2 Multifunctional Digital Air Fryer comes with 3 removable racks, rotisserie basket, drip tray, retrieval tool and rotisserie spit. They are dishwasher safe.

Chefman RJ38-10-RDO-V2 has interior light than you can turn on or off. Some consumers also have reported this model breaking after few months of use but it does seem like this is not a common occurrence.

Chefman RJ38-10-RDO-V2 seems to be a really good air fryer oven so why does it come #5 in this article? It’s very simple as it comes down to what consumers need and the reality is that most don’t need air fryer of this size which is why the other 4 will likely meet all your needs while being (usually) less expensive and economical.
