Chefman 6.3 Quart Digital Air Fryer Review (RJ38-6-RDO)

Chefman RJ38-6-RDO is air fryer oven with 6.3 quart capacity making it large enough to cook for a family of 4-5. It can cook in temperatures from 90°F to 400°F and has 8 cooking presets.

Cooking

For the most part Chefman RJ38-6-RDO cooks well. Steaks come out crispy on the outside and juicy on inside. Roasting vegetables works well too. This air fryer has rotisserie function so you can cook a chicken inside or french fries in rotating basket.

To get French Fries crispy you might have to spray a bit of oil on them otherwise they might not come out as crispy as you expect. This is one of the situations where top of the line air fryers might perform better.

Chefman RJ38-6-RDO air fryer has multiple rack levels so you can cook two different types of food at the same time or more of one. It does seem that temperature isn’t perfectly distributed though as the food in top tray will be better cooked and crispier than the one in the bottom tray.

Temperature can be adjusted in 10 degree increments so you won’t be always able to match the temperature in the recipe. Some air fryers allow you to adjust temperature in 5 degree increments but they are somewhat uncommon.

You can also use one of the 8 presets: Fries (40°F for 20 minutes), meat (400°F for 20 minutes), fish (400°F for 10 minutes), shrimp (400°F for 10 minutes), chicken (380°F for 25 minutes), rotisserie (400°F for 45 minutes), bake (350°F for 30 minutes) and dehydrate (140°F for 8 hours).

Noise

Chefman RJ38-6-RDO is pretty quiet for an air fryer except when it announces that it has finished cooking with 5 loud beeps.

Chefman RJ38-6-RDO air fryer has large display with touch sensitive buttons and dial for adjusting temperature or cooking time. It’s simple to use.

Possible issues

Some consumers have had issues with door mechanism when door doesn’t always lock in place when closed. Few also had issue with unit breaking after less than 1 year of use.

Conclusions

Chefman RJ38-6-RDO air fryer offers good value for the money considering the accessories and features however some consumers have had issues with build quality and long-term reliability. On top of that in some situations it might not cook some of the foods as crispy and good tasting as top of the line air fryers but it does really good job most of the time. For the most part Chefman RJ38-6-RDO is a good air fryer even though some issues might arise.
