CHEFMAN 2QT Compact Air Fryer Review

CHEFMAN RJ38-2LM is a compact air fryer with 2-quart capacity than can cook in temperatures ranging from 200°F to 400°F. The 2-quart capacity means you won’t be able to cook large meals with it but it’s large enough to cook for 1 person or smaller servings for 2.

CHEFMAN RJ38-2LM cooks just fine. Meat is juicy, chicken wings and French Fries are crispy. Everything comes out tasting good.

Some consumers have had issues with plastic smell and even taste but this can be easily prevent by doing two things. First you have to remove the plastic stoppers off the tray. It seems that many consumers don’t realize this so make sure you take them off.

The other thing that can cause the burning smell is the protective substance on heating element. It’s there to protect the heating element from damage during shipping and are eliminated by high heat. Before you cook anything in the air fryer you should clean the tray and basket (do not use abrasive cleaning agents or scouring pads) with a sponge and warm, soapy water. You can also clean the interior. Once everything has dried cook slices of lemon or some vinegar with lemon juice for 20 minutes at 300°F to 400°F. After this you should have no issues with the plastic smell or taste.

CHEFMAN RJ38-2LM air fryer is equipped with two knobs – one for adjusting temperature and the other one for selecting cooking time. It also has two indicator lights “Power” and “Heating” (latter is useful if you want to preheat the air fryer before cooking).

Mechanical controls aren’t as accurate as digital but since everything you cook comes out tasting well you can say they are accurate enough.

Basket and the tray are top-rack dishwasher safe.

For the money CHEFMAN RJ38-2LM is a decent air fryer. It’s doesn’t have the features of build-quality of high-end models however it cooks well, is compact and very affordable.
