Breville BOV845BSS Smart Oven Pro is very powerful and heats up fast. It cooks evenly and is very consistent – something that less expensive countertop ovens typically struggle with.

Overall it does a great job of cooking food. You can often notice a difference compared to less expensive models and even though it’s usually not significant it does help to justify the price differnce.

Breville Smart Oven Pro has 10 cooking functions: grill, toast, crumpet, bake, roast, pizza, cookies, reheat, warm and slow cook.

It toasts bread nicely, can crisp food pretty well and with its large size and versatile functions you can cook a lot of different delicious meals.

Noise

Breville BOV845BSS Smart Oven Pro is pretty quiet overall. Fan does get a bit louder when using convection cooking but overall this model is not as loud as some units from other companies.

Element iQ System

Breville BOV845BSS Smart Oven Pro has Element iQ System that steers power when and where it’s needed for improved cooking performance and results.

Does it work or is it just a marketing trick? It’s really hard to say however since Breville BOV845BSS Smart Oven Pro cooks quite well you might as well assume it does.

Accessories

Breville Smart Oven Pro comes with oven rack, enamel baking pan (12’’ x 12’’ inch), enamel broiling rack (12’’ x 12’’ inch) and non-stick piza pan (13-inch).

Breville also sells other compatible accessories separately like 13-inch non-stick pizza crisper (BOV800PC13), 13-inch pizza stone (BOV800PS13) and bamboo cutting board (BOV800CB).

Control panel

Control panel features LCD display, two dials (for adjusting temperature/darkness and time/slices/size) and 4 buttons: “Temperature conversion”, ”Oven light”, ”Convection” and ”Frozen Foods”.

It’s fairly simple but as with many devices there’s some learning curve (it’s not very steep thankfully).

Quality

Breville BOV845BSS Smart Oven Pro feels significantly better made than less expensive countertop ovens. It feels heavy duty which is one of the things you pay for with this model.

Other Features

Breville BOV845BSS Smart Oven Pro is equipped with interior light so you can clearly see the food being cooked.

Walls inside the oven have non-stick coating which makes them easier to clean.

Other

As with many convection ovens the exterior does get hot, particularly the top side. Keep in mind that instructions clearly state you need to keep a minimum distance of 4 inches (10cm) of space on both sides of the oven and 6 inches (15cm) on top. These are the minimum distances so more wouldn’t hurt for even better air circulation.

Verdict

Breville BOV845BSS Smart Oven Pro is better made and more advanced than most countertop ovens (even though there are pricier options that are even more advanced).If the price seems reasonable to you then it’s certainly worth the premium over more affordable models.
